TEQSA 2023
The Seventh Annual TEQSA Conference was held on 22–23 November 2023 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the theme “Reshaping Higher Education.” The conference attracted 993 participants, including higher education providers, academics, and students from Australia and overseas. Of these, 745 attended in person and 248 virtually. The event recorded the highest-ever number of student attendees at a TEQSA conference, with 147 students actively participating in discussions and panels.

Program & Engagement
Strong attendance and record student participation: the conference registered 993 participants (with 745 attending in person and 248 virtually), and TEQSA reported the highest-ever number of student attendees (147 students). Students were actively involved on panels and in main-session discussion. Topics included:
Safeguarding Student Wellbeing: Discussions centered around creating relevant student support programs to ensure student safety and wellbeing.
The Future of Education: Explorations into the evolving landscape of higher education, including the impact of emerging technologies and societal changes.
Quality of International Education: Addressing challenges and opportunities in maintaining and enhancing the quality of education for international students.
Assessment Reform in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A session titled "Assessment reform for the age of artificial intelligence" was held, focusing on how AI is transforming assessment practices in higher education.
Impact & Recognition
The conference program addressed critical issues in higher education, including student wellbeing, the future of higher education, international education quality, and assessment reform in the age of artificial intelligence. The event featured plenaries, panel discussions, seminar sessions, and pre-conference seminars. Session recordings were made available online, extending the reach and impact of the conference and supporting ongoing engagement across the sector.
